In this tutorials, let us learn the easiest way to strikethrough any cell in Excel.
I will be showing some examples here, see how am I striking all the cells here.
Keyboard Shortcut to strikethrough text in cell is Ctrl+5.
Generally, people will be applying this strikethorugh by going to format cells and go to font and then apply the strikethrough effect.
Now, let us use this strikethrough option based on a condition.
In this example, let us strikethough the State name whenever the status column is filled with completed.
1. Select the entire range of State names, where I would like to apply the formatting.
2. Click on conditional formatting, click on New rule
3. Select the option 'use a formula to determine which cells to format'
4. In the formula bar, type as F5="Completed"
5. Click on Format button
6. Go to font tab and tick the checkbox 'strikethrough' under effects and click on Ok
7. Click ok.
Now let us type completed in cell F5 and see that the State Andhra pradesh is getting strikethrough.
Try entering in more cells in column F and see that the state names getting strikethrough.
